Miss Sarah Addison is a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon with expertise in pelvic floor disorders, functional bowel conditions, and colorectal surgery. She sees private patients at HCA The Harborne Hospital and The Priory Hospital in Birmingham.
Sarah graduated from the University of Birmingham in 1996. She undertook her basic surgical training in the West Midlands, followed by a research post in East Anglia focusing on colonic calcium signalling. She returned to the West Midlands to complete her higher surgical training in general and colorectal surgery, qualifying as a consultant in 2009.
During her registrar training, Sarah was awarded a travelling fellowship to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St Louis, USA. There she studied advanced laparoscopic surgery techniques and peritoneal cancer treatments.
She began her consultant career at Walsall Manor Hospital, where she helped establish a joint pelvic floor clinic with a uro-gynaecologist, managing complex pelvic floor dysfunction.
